Good quality content can go a long way in improving your SEO’s image and outreach. I always prefer quality over quantity when it comes to the content on my site, and this allows me to keep track of what I share and what I should be sharing.
#2 – Twitter’s “Link Graph” is the Real Deal: Google has always strived to keep up with the latest ways that content is being recommended and suggested. It’s how they determined popularity and relevance with PageRank and I think Twitter’s data is merely the next evolution. Tweets are going to carry their own weight in helping pages rank in the not-too-distant future.
While most of the links to your site will be added gradually, as people discover your content through search or other ways and link to it, Google understands that you’d like to let others know about the hard work you’ve put into your content. Effectively promoting your new content will lead to faster discovery by those who are interested in the same subject. As with most points covered in this document, taking these recommendations to an extreme could actually harm the reputation of your site.

Majestic is a great tool for finding backlinks that point (or pointed) to any website. It has quite a big index (231+ billion URLs in fresh index vs 613+ billion pages in SEO PowerSuite) and it is more modestly priced than Ahrefs (although it’s still much more expensive than SEO PowerSuite). However it is only focused on finding links, and not on determining their relevancy and quality. Usually what you would do is, find links in Majestic, then still analyze them with SEO SpyGlass (part of SEO PowerSuite toolkit). You can just as well use SEO SpyGlass for both, finding links and analyzing them.

I usually (or eventually) go beyond this to other related tools, but this is a great place to start (Google is still the main search engine of the world).
