Leave the pages up. If the items will be in stock later, leave pages up just the way they are. Don’t delete, hide or replace them. Don’t add another product to them or redirect visitors to other pages.
UpCity – This is an especially good tool for those that are new to SEO. They offer a checklist of tasks to complete when you are just getting started to make sure you cover all your bases. This is worth checking out if you are looking to simplify your SEO experience.
I do also use AHrefs if I really want to double-down, so to speak, on backlink research for a site and ensure I am getting the most available links to a site (after I have looked at Majestic data, of course).
Outspoken Media recently went through a SEO audit RFP process in which one of the other vendors was a “Top 20 SEO.” We didn’t consider the other firm a direct competitor, so this was intriguing to say the least. What they did have was a badge on their homepage that proudly stated they were a TopSEO! In this situation, we weren’t a good fit for the client regardless of the badge, but the situation really bothered me. Rather than diving into a tirade on TopSEOs, I’ll let Aaron Wall explain why TopSEOs is a scam.
Google Webmaster Tools or GWT enables Google to communicate with the webmasters. It alerts you to the issues of your site and even detects it if your site has been infected with malware. In my view, this is a must-use tool for every SEO expert.
It allows you to listen directly to your customers about their likes and dislikes. Use it to improve the relationships with your customers. You can use the Hootsuite to find the number of times your website has been mentioned on the sites like Facebook and Twitter. It comes with a meter that decides how the people are reacting to you and your business. If that is not a measure how good your company is, nothing else.
Want to get backlinks from The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal? You can hire a pricey PR firm…or you can use HARO. HARO is a “dating service” that connects journalists with sources. If you hook a journalist up with a nice quote or stat, they’ll reward you up with a mention or link. Takes a bit of grinding to get a single mention, but the links you get can be solid gold.
Once your website begins ranking well in search engines, hopefully you will begin to see an influx in traffic. Google Analytics and Site Catalyst allow you to track your traffic by keyword. If you run these reports on a regular basis, you can get an excellent snapshot of how your website is doing in the search engines. By monitoring your keyword traffic, you can determine which keywords need more reinforcement in your future content. Knowing your traffic is important when considering your next step.

The absence of an industry technical standard means SEO practitioners have two major options: take their tools data at face value or use multiple tools and aggregate the data as best as possible. When selecting an SEO tool, it’s important to know how it collects and analyzes the data so you have a full picture of what your final numbers truly represent.
3) Majestic – You’re going to need acess to good link checking database if you are building an SEO campaign. I flip back and forth between Ahrefs and Majestic in my preference, but you can’t really go wrong with either.
In the early days of SEO, you could pepper keywords into your on-page content and watch as your website moved up to the top of the search results. Today, search engine’s algorithms have become more complex, relying on a variety of signals to determine where a site should rank for certain keywords. That being said, there’s a select few tactics essential to any SEO strategy—no matter the type of business at hand.
Hey Priya, thank you for passing by, and taking the time to read. You should be able to improve your SEO, just remember SEO is a continuous process that goes on as long as your site remains live. Let us know how that goes 🙂
Great list Sujan! I absolutely agree with all your points here. Mobile friendly website is really important to achieve user experience, if the user was not happy browsing your site using their mobile phones or tablets, they will immediately leave the site, but if the user is happy because it is user friendly then they might stay long in your site and when this happen, the search engine will also become happy. Having a mobile friendly website is now a requirement in order to improve your site ranking. On page Optimization is what I am doing for how many years, and one thing that I am very sure, it will help boosts the ranking in Search Engine.
1) SEO Knowledge (not to mention marketing and branding knowledge). Most important tool you can use SEO. Hands down. With SEO knowledge of what really Google is using to rank these days, then all the other tools become useful. Without it, all the other tools are useless as you don’t know what to look at and waste your time focussing on unimportant stuff. Or worse, even hurtful stuff.
Gotta start with analysis. I pull my data from Moz and SEMrush. SEMrush is my go-to for competitor keyword research. For backlinks, citation opportunities and rank tracking I go straight to Moz. And I can’t live without my mozbar. At Stream Creative we set up our client campaigns using both of these tools.
