“best seo certifications |synonym of search engine optimization”

Hi Brian, Awsome content as ever! I’m very interested in your idea of creating an ‘uber’ resource list or expert roundup post i.e. linking out to lots of to other authorities in my niche within one post. But should you always create ‘no-follow’ links to these authority sites to prevent juice from passing to them? And similarly if you sprinkle a few outbound authority links in other posts should they all be ‘no-follow’ or do you think big G ignores ‘no follow’ these days?

You can’t be an SEO and not care about website performance. While this aspect may not fall under your direct responsibilities, it is your duty to know at least the fundamentals of website performance, so you know what to demand of your webmaster or your web developer.

Cool Feature: “Divergent” shows you what time of the year certain keywords tend to spike. For example, if you want to see which gift card keywords tend to perk up around Christmas, GrepWords will show it to you. Ditto with Halloween and keywords related to “costumes”.

Thanks Brain, these tips are useful. The key thing with most of the tips that you provided is that it will take time and most people want to have more traffic, but they do not want to do the work and put in the time. However, if you put in the word and you do a quality job then it will work out. I think that is the overall strategies that a lot of SEOs have to do today is just to take the time and figure out quality strategies.

Great post, your knowledge and innovative approach never fails to amaze me! This is certainly the first time I’ve heard someone suggest the Wikipedia dead link technique. It’s great that you’re getting people to think outside of the box. Pages like reddit are great for getting keywords and can also be used for link building although this can be difficult to get right. Even if you don’t succeed at using it to link build it’s still a really valuable platform for getting useful information. Thanks!

In this PRO seminar, you’ll gain a deep understanding of how success in search requires the combination of ‘holy smokes’ content, strong social media, and brilliant PR. You’ll learn how to apply this effective combination to your online and offline marketing efforts. more

Search engine optimization is just one piece of a large set of tools you can use to promote your business online. Develop a marketing plan the includes a variety of strategies to reach your target market. If you’re on a budget, there are other free marketing options along with SEO that you can do.

Thanks Brian for sharing these points. I was desperately looking for ways to increase search traffic. Although, it is good right now, but I need more. All I was getting was basic SEO techniques which I have pretty much applied but was looking for extensive ones. These are perfect for my requirement. Thanks a bunch!

When you guest post on other sites, be sure to follow these best practices, while also always using your real name, profile picture and offering quality content that further exemplifies your expertise and brand. Spend more time on getting writing opportunities on much larger sites, than trying to simply write for a bunch of smaller ones. This will help with your time management, reach, and ROI in the long run.

We’ll provide recommendations on revisions to your website architecture, optimizing according to SEO and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) best practices to satisfy search engines and visitors to your website.

Using Linkody to Monitor Anchor Text and Avoid Google Penalties One of the most valuable aspects of Linkody is that it easily allows you to see the distribution of different anchor texts being used to link in […]

Before going into a real deep-dive into their websites backlink profile, a great place to get an idea about their historic link building efforts is to have a look through the anchor text distribution to see how aggressive (or amateur) their strategy was.

Power Suggest Pro is a desktop-based keyword research tool. Enter a keyword and it spits out ideas from a number of different search engines (like Google and Wikipedia). Cool Feature: “Ideas!” give you a list of common terms people use in search engines (like “best X” and “how to fix Y”). Helpful for coming up with new keyword ideas.

Your blogs are very useful here and especially to this blog, which provide this point information, I have received lots of help to read this blog post, please continue to share this kind of information.

Make sure you have a clear linking structure within your website. For example, if you’re counting on your footer links to drive your internal linking strategy, think again. Footer and header links do not hold a lot of weight. Therefore, internally linking within your body copy will allow Google to navigate your website better.

Hey Brian. Even though our own website ranks constantly (last 3 years now) for SEO Companies at Number 1 of Google (obviously when searching from London UK or nearby that is), I sttill keep reading other people’s posts and sending my own out when I find a gold nugget. However, within your clearly written article I have noticed multiple golden nuggets, and was very impressed by your ‘thinking out the box’ approach, and the choices you made for this article. Anytime you want a job as head of R&D for SEO at KD Web, you just let me know 😉

Make sure that is site structure is well enough to allow search engines to crawl your site perfectly. Write an in-depth article on the topic & avoid using multiple keywords. At first, try to rank for a single keyword then let search engine gather keywords and rank your page for other keywords.

While SEMrush offer a broad spectrum of tools in their suite, as with many audit tools, it only really touches the surface. Technical SEO’s and developers combined working on larger websites can gain a massive amount of actionable information from DeepCrawl. It has solid Analytics integration and an amazing depth of crawl data. I particularly like the dev vs live facility so teams can understand the impact of changing their website and it’s architecture. Pretty powerful stuff!

A lot has changed in how Google handles paginated archives recently when they introduced their support for rel=”next” and rel=”prev” links. We’ve written an article about that: rel=”next” and rel=”prev” for paginated archives, which is a bit too technical to fully list here, but suffice to say our Yoast SEO plugin takes care of all the needed changes automatically.

Lastly, I would use SEMRush for competitive analysis. This tool a wealth of information that provides actionable insights. I’ll have admit that I don’t use this tool enough. But when I do, I am beyond grateful for its robust capabilities.

I use Facebook and Twitter Ads to promote content to certain audiences to create links. Social media ads also creates brand affinity which raises click through rates and improves post-click user engagement rates which we find improves SEO rankings.

An outreach tool. I love data, but I know that building lasting relationships with the sites – be it other bloggers, competitors or anyone else – is better for your long term SEO. You can recover from a penalty. You can’t recover from bad networking.

Instead, this article is focused on organic search results with a goal of getting your website placed in the top 10 search results for your targeted keywords. There are several benefits to organic ranking over paid options including:

Here are the tools that are going to help you when you are trying to figure out what behind-the-scenes aspects to your site are not working. Even if your site used to be running well, little things can happen over time that can effect your SEO performance. It is a good idea to check up on the technical side of your website every couple months, even if there are no noticeable changes in your organic traffic. It is always better to catch and fix your issues before they become a thorn in your side.

This truly amazing and I’m gonna share this with like minded people. I loved the part about flippa. What a great source to get ideas. Building links tends to be the hardest to do, but a few good quality links is all you need now a days to get ranked. I currently rank for a very high volume keyword with only 5 links all with pr 3,4 and good DA and PA. Good links are hard to get but you only need a few which is Props for this post!

3) SEMrush – I like to use this tool to further explorer a link prospects rankings. Metrics like domain authority (DA) can be easily faked and does not truly refelect a sites authority. Looking at a site’s organic visibility is a much better indicator.

Agree with Victor G says “Sometimes, I can’t believe these articles are available for free”. This great post of your helped me to learn about many new tools. Can I ask you a question? None of it are One-Time fee such as SEO Power Suite. Is it are not recommended tools?

Yes, Keyword Combiner is designed for Adwords. But it’s a great tool to find keywords that you can use for SEO as well. Just pop in a bunch of different keywords and the tool will mash them all together. Then upload them to the GKP to check their search volume. Helpful.

While they won’t (again, we’re told) have a direct affect on your search presence, they do affect your click-through-rates. You can help to draw attention to your site (and content) in the search results by crafting the perfect meta description.

Image Alt Text: If an image doesn’t appear on a webpage, its alt text will be displayed for web users. Not only will this show search engines what the picture’s subject is, it will also help users should the image have a problem loading. Again, you’ll want to place a keyword in the image alt text.

But I have a question: why does the ressource that sits on page 6 with quality backlinks have such a bad ranking? Seems a bit scarry to me to know that good content can end up like that, even with quality backlinks

So does the problem with reciprocal link mean site to site, or page to page? In other words, if I link to one page on their site, but they link back to a different page on my site (assuming all useful to readers), does everyone win?

With annual releases that you know will be replaced annually, simply add the year in the URL like this: website.com/category-sub-category/product-name-2012/ and 301 redirect it to the website.com/category-sub-category/product-name-2013/ version when the new version replaces it.

Well, zoom up a couple of levels, and it’s a similar story for chief marketing officers. Today’s SEM landscape is vastly different than it was even a year ago — its place in the industry, its interaction with other channels, its inter-platform capabilities, and its engagement across devices have all been evolving at a fairly dizzying pace of late.

On that same note, include image alt text. Remember that search engine bots cannot see your images, so this is all they have to go off of when deciphering what the image is about. To include this, you simply add alt=”your alt text” to your image tag.

Make sure that is site structure is well enough to allow search engines to crawl your site perfectly. Write an in-depth article on the topic & avoid using multiple keywords. At first, try to rank for a single keyword then let search engine gather keywords and rank your page for other keywords.

Search engines are using brand and content mentions to determine ranking. The reason behind this approach is simple: If more people like, retweet, pin, stumble etc your content, it must be valuable and vice versa.

It is not always that easy to start with the keyword in mind and write an effective title and article. I find it much easier to start simply with the ‘concept’ of what the article is going to be about. Outline it as you would normally, without thinking about keywords or SEO. Then simply write an effective article. Once you are done, and happy with the content of the post, re-read it and add your keywords where they make sense and seem natural. Once they are appropriately placed in the copy, you can write the title for the post. Remember to include the keyword in the title.

Find the right images. Finding relevant images that relate to your web copy is of utmost importance – both for humans and search engines. While research shows that text is the first thing view on the page, it is the image that ultimately sells the page.

Many times websites owners don’t understand where Google gets the description tag from. They can’t understand why the snippet they wrote is not showing up, or why different search terms produce different description tags for the same page. There are two primary tactics Google uses to create your meta description tag.

By using a meta description, you give Google a summary of your content. Describe what your articles are about and use your main keywords inside. Use a unique and relevant meta description for every page on your site.

Yoast SEO is now pushing something called OnPage. In your SEO checks it states that your site is not indexing and then leads you to OnPage to fix it. The OnPage requires you to sign up with an account to “Fix” the problem that never existed to begin with.

“Securing your identity online is becoming a difficult task as technology advances. Nobody is safe, not even your children. Thankfully, new child identity theft protection services have begun to show in the marketplace.”

Online Marketing is a genuine type of an undeniable workmanship; to be sure it is the art of finding the correct clients over the computerized organize that incorporates the web and versatile applications. .

SEMRush – SEMRush are an awesome team with a fantastic tool full of great information. I use it for competitor research, keyword analysis and much more. The more time you spend on it the more useful functionality you will find.

Link Research Tools would have to be 3rd because it has such a powerful suite of link intelligence tools. For link cleanup and opportunities, there is probably not a better resource out there for dealing with the massive amount of data that can go into selecting where to pursue links.

To boot, if you use WordTwit or Twitter Tools, all of your posts can be announced on Twitter, which will usually get you quite a few early readers! People will feel even more happy to comment on Twitter, which might get you into an extra conversation or two.

Find paid links on the page and check that links that should be nofollow are nofollow. I have on-page tool NoFollow for Chrome installed. This browser extension is excellent for quick page hyperlink analysis. it highlights rel=nofollow links on the fly which I find useful.

Even your URLs are critically important for search engine optimization. For instance, your URLs should contain real words, including your keywords, and should be structured in such a way that search engines can easily crawl your site based on your URLs alone.

There’s a conversation going on around you. Are you part of it? Social media sites focus on giving people a way to connect and share thoughts, ideas and creations. Smart companies are figuring out ways to contribute to and become part of this conversation. Learn how to join in without stepping on toes.

Sure, Scrapebox might get a bad wrap for many of the “black hat” things it can do. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t use some of the functionality to help automate tasks you don’t want to do manually. A good example of how you can use Scrapebox for broken link building is to see Ryan Stewart’s post on how to do this.

Where the free Google tools can provide complementary value is in fact-checking. If you’re checking out more than one of these SEO tools, you’ll quickly realize this isn’t an exact science. If you were to look at the PA, DA, and keyword difficulty scores across KWFinder.com, Moz, SpyFu, SEMrush, Ahrefs, AWR Cloud, and Searchmetrics for the same set of keywords, you might get different numbers across each metric separated by anywhere from a few points to dozens. If your business is unsure about an optimization campaign on a particular keyword, you can cross-check with data straight from a free AdWords account and Search Console. Another trick: enable Incognito mode in your browser along with an extension like the free Moz Toolbar and you can run case-by-case searches on specific keywords to get an organic look at your target search results page.

Before …. when i publish my new blog post, i always create a link which pointing to my home page or to a another post page that i want to rank. But now … when i use your strategy, i see a positive change on my blog traffic.

While it’s true that Google recently removed author photos from SERPs, that doesn’t mean that authorship is dead. There is still speculation that Google may someday use authorship and the authority of an author in its ranking algorithm. Many feel Google is already doing this and simply isn’t telling us, but regardless, although Google has not made any official announcement that Author Rank does or will exist in the future, it’s an extremely convincing idea. It’s best to start building up your authority as an author now in anticipation of this. After all, Google+ is Google’s network, so they want to make it as important as possible and encourage social sharing here as opposed to its competitors.

AdWords alone has a slew of remarketing (Google-speak for retargeting) options: RLSA (Remarketing Lists for Search Ads), Search Companion remarketing, Similar Users remarketing, Dynamic remarketing, YouTube remarketing, Google Analytics remarketing, etc.

Hi Brain, I am a young business owner who has had 4 different websites in the last 2 years but none of them were successful as I would have liked due to lack of SEO. Now I am in process of starting another business and I felt it was time for me to learn about SEO myself. I must say the information you have provided is invaluable and extremely helpful!! I am learning on the go and you are my biggest contributor. Thank you Sir!

Please be advised that I have arranged for Jeff Tropiano and Best Dallas SEO to take over your account if you so desire. I have been working with Jeff and mentoring him in how I do SEO since 2008 and will continue to do so. Jeff was already in the SEO industry for a couple of years before we met, which gives him at least 10 years experience.

All search engines use algorithms to attempt to provide the most relevant results to each searcher, taking onto account not only the search keywords used but also the searcher’s location, device, operating system, previous search behavior, and even identity. The better any specific search algorithm for paid or organic (unpaid) results is, the happier the searcher is with the results. Because search engines compete for the attention, eyeballs, and ears of searchers, there is great incentive for constant improvement and innovation.

He goes on to say, “we still don’t believe them [Google] and have overwhelming evidence that Google doesn’t consistently treat all pages on multiple subdomains the same way they do URLs on the same subdomain. They’ve said for years that it doesn’t matter, but the evidence and data are clear.”

It’s rare to come across new SEO tips worth trying. And this post has tons of them. I know that’s true BECAUSE…I actually read it all the way to the end and downloaded the PDF. What makes these great is that so many are a multiple step little strategy, not just the one-off things to do that clients often stumble across and ask if they are truly good for SEO. But there are also some nice one-off tips that I can easily start using without ramping up a new project.

GTMetrix is my software of choice when it comes to measuring the page speed and performance of your website. This helps me to improve loading speed and monitor my website. It is easy to use and extremely user-friendly, and also thorough in its execution.

for consumers. Great companies fail every day simply because no one knew about them. Low-quality companies join the ranks of the Fortune 500 because they knew how to market themselves. Don’t make the same mistake as the former and don’t get beaten by the latter. Coalition Technologies is the solution to your online marketing problems. Don’t waste your money having a billboard that 10,000 people see a day but don’t need your product / service. Use SEO so that you can have 1,000 people actively searching for products and services like yours and are ready to buy from you. That is the power of SEO and that is why you can’t afford to neglect it.

The costs for in-house marketing often go above those of an online marketing agency in addition to the added stress and the lack of performance as the in-house team looks for the right software and solutions to bring their plan together. We continue to hear from more businesses which opt to outsource their online marketing initiatives including major enterprises with internal advertising departments.

Always a great place to start I find. Working out the lay of the land in terms of what keywords are relevant to a given client’s niche and industry. I usually (or eventually) go beyond this to other related tools, but this is a great place to start (Google is still the main search engine of the world).

The future of SEO will be the importance of the link quality. The site that links has to be socially active and have a usable and interaction user base . These cloud-based, self-service tools have plenty of other unique optimization features, too. Others, such as SpyFu and LinkResearchTools, have more interactive data visualizations, granular and customizable reports, and return on investment (ROI) metrics geared toward online marketing and sales goals. The more powerful platforms can sport deeper analytics on paid advertising and pay-per-click (PPC) SEO as well. Though, at their core, the tools are all rooted in their ability to perform on-demand keyword queries.

The local search landscape has becoming dramatically more competitive in 2017. Google is starting to show more ads, and their stakeholders want to see cash flowing in from local search result advertising placements. More than 50% of all consumers Google their local business before visiting, so Google is now tailoring to that marketing channel. It’s important in 2017 to consider putting together a local AdWords campaign that targets the area or areas your business serves. Being first in Google is the organic results no longer means you are first – it means you are #5 or perhaps number 6. Be sure to reconsider the value of an effective paid local search strategy in addition o your organic strategy.

Cool feature: Only want to see keywords that have a search volume between 1500-2100? How about keywords with an estimated bid of at least $2.50? Long Tail Pro’s filtering feature makes it easy to see ONLY keywords that you actually want.

For example, let’s say the keyword difficulty of a particular term is in the 80s and 90s in the top five spots on a particular search results page. Then, in positions 6-9, the difficulty scores drop down into the 50s and 60s. Using that difficulty score, a business can begin targeting that range of spots and running competitive analysis on the pages to see who your website could knock out of their spot.

Just load a webpage, click the icon in your toolbar, and the app scans all links and notifies you of the dead links. Once DHP finds dead links, it queries an internet domain registrar to see if those domains are available to register. If so, the user is notified, and one-click takes you right to the registration page.

Out of the box, WordPress is a pretty well optimized system, and does a far better job at allowing every single page to be indexed than every other CMS we have used. But there are a few things you should do to make it a lot easier still to work with.

Search engine marketing is the practice of marketing a business using paid advertisements that appear on search engine results pages (or SERPs). Advertisers bid on keywords that users of services such as Google and Bing might enter when looking for certain products or services, which gives the advertiser the opportunity for their ads to appear alongside results for those search queries.

Your website loading speed is one of the most important rankings factors in Google. No one likes slow websites, and neither does Google. Studies show that a visitor expect a website to load in no more than 2 seconds. If it takes more than 4 seconds, users usually lose patience, and the chances of clicking the back button are increasing with every second of delay.

And a good scraping/crawling tool for things like getting the lay of the land (crawling sites) to scraping specific data points, or mining footprints is a must have. Screaming Frog deserves a tip of the hat. Every other aforementioned need, I will generally build my own.

One of the things we’ve found to be very important, and more bloggers seem to have found this, is that an RSS subscribe button is very important, as is offering a way to subscribe by e-mail. Unbounce.com is worth noting—I used the service to generate landing pages quickly when I need to. 3. #journorequest or Gorkana – the majority of the work we do is on the digital PR and content strategy and creation side and we would be lost without access to both of these tools as they make it much easier to find the right influencers to pitch ideas into.

119. Open Site Explorer – This is a powerful, versatile tool from Moz that can be used in a limited, free version as well. It allows you to analyze the authority of a page, page link and social metrics, the number of inbound links, linking domains, anchor text, and more. With a paid account, you get access to even more tools, like the On-Page Grader, which points out exactly the good and the bad of your on-page factors.

159. SEO Warrior – Getting the hang of SEO theory can be exhausting at first, which is why you’ll find it very useful to use books and guides that put you to work. This book by John I. Jerkovich introduces you to tactics, strategies and practices that you can actually use to test your knowledge and, further on, to progress with your optimization work for best results.

The winners of the auction are generally determined by something called ad rank—a rank that considers the maximum bid set by each advertiser, which can range from pennies to unlimited (within certain restrictions), and an ad’s Quality Score. Other factors that influence an auction include the type of device being used, the searcher’s language preferences, their location, and the time of day.

2) Serplab.co.uk – This is an awesome keyword tracker that is super cheap and works great. I am tracking over 4500 keywords for $45 a month and it send out reports to my clients automatically. I call pull all the keywords from Google Adwords dump them in here and then see where the client’s rank to really target terms I never would have thought of. Here is a great guide we did for Small Business SEO: https://yeah-local.com/small-business-seo-guide/

Tools like SiteLiner, Screaming Frog, and SEMrush all offer free output to a degree, but the most valuable, totally free tool I use most often for SEO (outside of a keyword research or backlink data provider) is the Google Search Console.

69. What is Link Building? – Although it doesn’t offer any strategies for link building, this article by John Ball does a good job of explaining why we need it, how it used to be done, and where it stands within today’s SEO. The article is less than one year old, so everything in it is still relevant.

118. Screaming Frog – From time to time, it’s a good idea to perform a crawl test of your website and check whether search engines have properly indexed your website. Perhaps you would like certain parts of your website to remain non-indexed (see uses for robots.txt and how to use a robots.txt file), in which case you have to get technical.

Yep! You can get most of the essential info with tools like search console and GA, but if you want to step it up, there is an investment. But, if you leverage the tools properly you should get a nice ROI

Secondly, “Spreadsheets”! Some people love them, some people hate them… I happen to be one of those weird people that use Excel spreadsheets to organize all of the information I gather about keywords, difficulty and all of the other metrics, and develop a strategic game plan for my clients.

A pretty nifty content promotion tool. Enter a few keywords and Outreachr will scour the web for websites that cover those topics. Comes packed with tons of sorting features (like Domain Authority and Citation Flow) so that you can focus on reaching out to ballers.

Hi Reid, it’s really fantastic job . You just eased the work for any SEO professional. Some tools i am already used but will try on the rest which appeared new for me. I’m new blogger who started blogging a month ago, I’m using blogspot platform. I have a question, Is there a difference for seo tips when using a free based platform (blogspot, wordpress.com,etc) and self-hosted website?

12. Write for users first. Google, Yahoo, etc., have pretty powerful bots crawling the web, but to my knowledge these bots have never bought anything online, signed up for a newsletter, or picked up the phone to call about your services. Humans do those things, so write your page copy with humans in mind. Yes, you need keywords in the text, but don’t stuff each page like a Thanksgiving turkey. Keep it readable.

Interesting tidbits of info from some really good SEO experts! Use semantically related keywords in your content, content boomerangs, barnacle SEO, bigfoot strategy, 10x the content of your competitor to out rank them? Some of these are search engine optimization tactics I’ve never heard of before, thanks guys!

Here is SEOWorker’s unique feature. They teach you about SEO in addition to showing you the SEO data that matters. Within each analyzed category, the report provides a detailed discussion, and often a video (ft. Matt Cutts).

It shows you keywords that tend to get searched for together. For example, let’s say you pop “gluten free” into the tool. Google Correlate tells you that people searching for “gluten free” also search for “cheese gluten free” and “flour gluten free”. Very cool.

While they won’t (again, we’re told) have a direct affect on your search presence, they do affect your click-through-rates. You can help to draw attention to your site (and content) in the search results by crafting the perfect meta description.

Reid, thanks for sharing this helpful list of free SEO tools! Here’s another one to add to this awesome list. http://rswebconsulting.com/seo-analyzer-toolkit/ – I will be sharing this post with my twitter followers 🙂

Optimize your website theme so that new products are always presented on your home page where they’ll get found and indexed. A good internal link architecture will get your new product pages indexed and ranked quickly.

Buzzsumo works great with SEMrush. With Buzzsumo I can find highly engaging topics within my niche. I then take the URLs of the most shared topics and plug it into SEMrush to find out which keywords that URL is ranking for.

Keyword metadata are the search phrases that people type when they want to find your page. You’ll want to include a variety of phrases. However, don’t get greedy: if your list becomes excessive, the browser may completely ignore the data. As a general rule, try to keep it to about 6-8 phrases with each phrase consisting of 1-4 words. A great example would be “computer science degree.”

Tired of worrying about your rankings and what your SEO company’s doing with your money? Put your fears to rest. Think of how relaxed you’ll feel knowing your SEO company works in your best interests. And then laugh when you outrank the competition and win all the customers!

On top of that new content strategy we also refined our keyword tool selection when it comes to keyword research pick low comp keywords for our content, we almost exclusively relied on KD because we had so much content to produce, looking at every SERP manually was just not realistic.

3. Get your best keywords into your domain, folders, and page names. For some great examples of how to create keyword-rich domain names, check out the results for these searches: used cars, monkeys for sale, belize vacation. Folders and pages should also include keywords: for example, http://www.yourdomain.com/used-cars/used-ford-thunderbird.html.

Great post Brian. Quick question. Are these main link building that u do, or are these in addition to some other link building? For example, on a brand new site do u just start these techniques, or do u do any web2.0 initially and the apply one of these techniques?

Write a description that would both inform and interest users if they saw your description meta tag as a snippet in a search result. While there’s no minimal or maximal length for the text in a description meta tag, we recommend making sure that it’s long enough to be fully shown in Search (note that users may see different sized snippets depending on how and where they search), and contains all the relevant information users would need to determine whether the page will be useful and relevant to them.

There is one more thing I need to ask… most of the tools you have suggested for different purpose, I have gathered. Except the scrapperbox and social media tools… Can you suggest any social media Desktop application… which will let me manage all the social medias together making tear 2 links and RSS feeds and with auto post scheduling. And best if it will be free or low cost.

To protect their reputation and keep spam websites away, Google started adding more strict rules to their ranking algorithm and they were able to differentiate between natural and artificially created links.

Finding out what and how well the competition is doing is always going to be helpful in determining your own chances of success. This tool helps you monitor your top competitors’ links, as well as their page authority and rank.

To provide a more useful/actionable recommendation for 2017 I highly suggest looking at underperforming but related posts on your site and then combining them into a single MONSTER post. To continue to cutt through the noise you need to do something exceptional and combining multiple posts into a single MASSIVE post can really help you do that.

Find the right images. Finding relevant images that relate to your web copy is of utmost importance – both for humans and search engines. While research shows that text is the first thing view on the page, it is the image that ultimately sells the page.

A kick-butt reporting tool designed for digital marketing agencies. Helps your clients quickly understand what’s going on with SEO and social media. Integrates with Google Analytics, YouTube, Twitter and more.

SimilarWeb — Estimated traffic metrics for (almost) any website. It also tells you where that traffic comes from (e.g. organic, paid, etc) and even lists top referring domains. Very powerful for competitive research.

Utilizing search engine marketing, however, can significantly speed up your ability to build your brand and your client base. It will put you in front of target audiences who are actively searching for products, services, and brands just like yours. You want to appear at the very top of their searches, or someone else will get their sale.

My best tactic for 2017 is to blow out LSI keywords to build rich content pages covering a widespread of concepts related to target topics. I call this the “bigfoot strategy” (or creating pages with large keyword footprints).

To help prep for the mobile-first index, increase mobile search traffic, launch Google AMP or Progressive Web Apps (PWAs). Google will serve up your AMP pages or PWAs in the mobile-first index if you don’t have a mobile site, so you’ll want to make sure your primary content and links list on the AMP pages or PWAs.

How does it work? The process is simple. The application pulls data from third-party sources and social signals and interprets them in a format that is easy to understand and work with. This tool will provide its clients with a live demo of the workflow, and the monthly pricing starts at $49 per month!

When it comes to marketing, a landing page has a specific role: to convert. As part of a marketing campaign, a landing page, also called a “lead capture page,” is optimized through language and design to get a visitor to convert by taking a specific action.

With this tool, you can look for links pages, guest posts, directories, forums and blogs out there, that there is a high probability you could get a link from. It’s a mountain of data you get back, so make sure you use this tool in a very focused manner.

13. Create great, unique content. This is important for everyone, but it’s a particular challenge for online retailers. If you’re selling the same widget that 50 other retailers are selling, and everyone is using the boilerplate descriptions from the manufacturer, this is a great opportunity. Write your own product descriptions, using the keyword research you did earlier (see #9 above) to target actual words searchers use, and make product pages that blow the competition away. Plus, retailer or not, great content is a great way to get inbound links.

I can feel the excitement in your writing, and thanks for all this free info you know how to get loyal subscribers, I believe you are one of the best in the business, no up selling just honesty, its so refreshing, i cant keep up with you I have only just finished the awesome piece of content you told me to write and just about to modify it then finally start promoting, i will be looking at this also THANK YOU, PS i couldn’t make your last course but i will get on board for the next one

SEM is an acronym for search engine marketing, which involves tasks that help search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and Bing, find and rank a website. In other words, it’s the things you can do to make sure your website appears in search engine results when someone searches for information related to your business.

Meta descriptions are the blurbs of text that you see under a title when performing a search. As a blog owner, you have control over what this blurb says, so you want to write a concise summary of what the article is about and why it matters. The trick here is that you only have 160 characters, so you have to get creative.

In most cases, breadcrumbs which simply illustrate the site’s hierarchy are your best option, but… don’t resign them exclusively to use within your “main” site. Breadcrumbs used within blogs and article sections can be a great way to encourage visitors to explore more of your content, and can help disperse link equity around the site too.

SEOWorkers analysis is a unique feature. Along with giving you a report on the data, it teaches you more about Google search engine optimization. With each of the above section analyzed, a detailed discussion and often a video is included. Also, the keyword analysis should not be overlooked. It provides head terms or single keywords and key phrases that contain two, three or four words, also called keywords.

With 1 or two hours of effort, a good SEO consultant can recommend a few firms or consultants who would be good fits for a project. For that you pay a few hours of a high hourly rate, but you establish a relationship.

Some plugins use so-called “automated descriptions”. They use the first sentence of a post to fill the meta description by default. That’s not very smart. That first sentence might be an introductory sentence which has hardly anything to do with the subject.

PageSpeed Insights incorporate data from the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) to display real-world performance data about a page. PSI reports two metrics: First Contentful Paint (FCP) and DOMContentLoaded (DCL).

Keep in mind that if you’re going to be driving more qualified traffic to your business website, you should make sure that it is optimized for conversions. A good business website is not just one that attracts visitors, but gets them to stay and convert.

87. Link Building Strategies (Your SEO Squad) – Link building will be one of the most difficult aspects of SEO that you must handle, so the more learning resources you can get your hands on, the better. I recently came across this wonderful guide on link building written by Matt LaClear, which takes your through all the basic steps of link building, and beyond. Learn how to place your first links on all assets owned by you, then move on to heavier stuff like earning links from strong domains and industry influencers. And if you’re really keen on learning link building and managing it for yourself (as you should), then I also recommend purchasing Matt’s ebook on Link Building – a small price to pay for real, enduring wins.

This post has been updated with more free SEO tools to help you grow your rankings in 2018! Search engine optimization SEO is tough. In fact, the challenges are so real that any SEO would appreciate a handy tool to make their job easier.

LongTailPro is a desktop keyword research tool which runs on Windows & Mac. LongTailPlatinum is a keyword research tool for smart and modern bloggers. You can check keyword ranking in major search engines directly from your Desktop. Long Tail Pro is just enough as an SEO tool for bloggers.

#2 – Twitter’s “Link Graph” is the Real Deal: Google has always strived to keep up with the latest ways that content is being recommended and suggested. It’s how they determined popularity and relevance with PageRank and I think Twitter’s data is merely the next evolution. Tweets are going to carry their own weight in helping pages rank in the not-too-distant future.

4. How Bing Search Works – Information from Bing’s official blog on how their search engine works. You can also check out the SEO guidelines for Bing from the official source, or this Princeton blog post explaining how Bing functions as compared to Google – nifty information indeed!

It also offers me a quick glance of they optimize their meta details so that’s a quick way to gauge their knowledge so I don’t dumb down the conversation and make them feel bad or worse, make them feel insulted.

I’ve heard so much about tools like Google Analytics, and I used to edit for a wiki called AboutUs that claimed to have a lot of SEO tools, such as free homepage analysis and paid whole-website analysis. Anyone familiar with the tools on AboutUs? They do this nifty keyword analysis, or at least they did recently. I will have to start researching AboutUs again, since it has changed a little bit. Do any of you use that website?

You’ve probably noticed by now, or you’re seeing now, that this WordPress SEO post is actually… not a post. It’s a page. Why? Well for several reasons. First of all, this article needed to be a “daughter”-page of our WordPress page, to be in the correct place on this blog. Secondly, to rank for the term [WordPress SEO], this article has to have the right keyword density. And that’s where things go wrong. Comments destroy your carefully constructed keyword density.

In terms of gauging a domain’s backlink profile my preferred software is Ahrefs. I’ve used others in the past, but the accuracy of link domains I find to be a lot more accurate than some of the other solutions.

When Google rolled out the Hummingbird algorithm a few years ago, they started taking related keywords into account for rankings for head terms. So if you optimize for [red oranges], listing out other fruits and colors would help your optimization for your main keyword.

When you are running out of keywords even on the Google Keyword Planner and need some newer ideas, Ubersuggest is a perfect alternative. This software helps you plan your target keywords and increase your website’s rankings.

At the start of this article, I talked about Google penalties. Linkody empowers you to avoid all of these penalties. The disavow feature will help you submit all your bad backlinks to Google’s Disavow tool with ease.

Breaking blog posts up using subtitles and section headlines not only makes them more visually appealing on a text heavy computer screen, but it also gives you additional opportunities to use your keyword phrase.

CanIRank is an up-and-coming SEO SaaS solution that uses machine learning to inform your SEO research—long story short it is a fantastic tool. While I still use other tools like Ahrefs and SEMRush, when it comes to on-page optimizations and in-depth keyword research there isn’t anything on the market that can touch CanIRank. If you are trying to rank for highly competitive keywords it’s an absolute must.

Pay Per Click Search Engines Pay per click search engines and pay per click advertising provides web site owners the opportunity to buy their way to better positions on search results pages. Step six looks at this form of advertising.

Before beginning your search for an SEO, it’s a great idea to become an educated consumer and get familiar with how search engines work. We recommend going through the entirety of this guide and specifically these resources:

Learn how universal search is changing up search engine optimization and how savvy marketers are taking advantage of it to increase their presence in search results.

HootSuite – It might seem odd, even now, to talk about a social tool when discussing SEO campaigns, but I’ve found HootSuite to be invaluable for taking our onsite SEO efforts to the masses. So much so, that I did one of our few videos on the platform, Monitoring Daily Social Media Efforts.

Another reason is that if you’re using an image as a link, the alt text for that image will be treated similarly to the anchor text of a text link. However, we don’t recommend using too many images for links in your site’s navigation when text links could serve the same purpose. Lastly, optimizing your image filenames and alt text makes it easier for image search projects like Google Image Search to better understand your images.

It helps Google crawl and index your site. Those little Googlebots that are sent out to fetch new information on your site will have a better idea of how useful and trustworthy your content is, the more they crawl your internal links.

Every now and then a little piece of marketing genius takes off with lightening speed and finds its way to half the computers on the Internet. These articles will give you insight into what makes some pieces fly while others flounder. They’ll also help you learn how to find the best starting points to launch a viral campaign.

In addition to the website internal links check, it analyzes the external links availability. If the site contains at least one external link with 404 error, it is shown in the report. The report contains a link to the page where 404 error was found, so you can fix it immediately.

Most importantly of all however, when a change is announced, don’t just sit idly by and assume it won’t affect you. Listen to what’s happening and how the industry is responding before using this information to implement changes to your own content marketing and SEO processes.

The introduction of new search vectors such as Featured Snippets, Quick Answers, and mobile-optimized formats such as Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) are indicative of the way search is evolving around three key factors: mobile search, predictive recommendations, and voice-activated queries from smart home devices and virtual assistants.

Instead of hunting for broken links page-by-page, The Broken Link Finder proactively searches the web for them. Just search for a keyword and the tool will scour the internet for broken links…and hand them to you on a silver platter. Then you can hit up the Wayback Machine to see what the content was (and create something similar/better).

Identify poor performing pages by using techniques like funnel visualization to identify which information needs to be more easily accessible. By tracking referrals and monitoring how long a visitor stays on the site, you can generate profitable sources of backlinks. Keyword research is an important part of SEO, and it is the basis of a successful marketing campaign. Knowing how to choose your keywords is essential to getting your message across and promoting your content, product, or services. Whether you’re looking to increase traffic or conversions, this is where you start. The articles and guides below focus on keyword research and strategies.

It’s really a question of being descriptive as keyword phrases typically describe what you offer. Think about the fact that you’re trying to answer someone’s question at the other end of the search engine. They’re typically searching Google because they have a question or a problem to solve. Make your website answer those questions and solve those problems and it will be the one to show in the search results.”

The settings above are the settings for our site. As you can see, we’ve completely disabled the date based archives, as we don’t use those. Any date based link will redirect to our homepage because of this setting. We’ve left the author archives untouched, but we have set the subpages of those archives to be noindex, follow by default. So you’ll never land on page 2 of an archive on our site from the search engines (change this on SEO → Titles & Metas → Other tab):

Thank you Zach for sharing these tools. We use most of the tools for SEO to track and measure our campaign success. Your blog is good and informational. Please keep updated with new technologies and trends. By: http://www.nris.com

And lastly I have to mention Google Analytics. Without great analytics data you have no idea what pages are actually performing. Who cares if your page is ranking but it has no engagement? It needs to serve a purpose and Google Analytics is where I turn when I need to find data that will allow me to make actionable steps that will increase our clients website performance.

We’ve seen a shift from a consumer standpoint in regards to how consumers find those which they do business with. Even within the healthcare industry, a patient is likely to perform a search online for the nearest treatment center and will look for online tools in order to identify whether their provider is covered by their network, or if they need to travel towards another healthcare provider. This shift is expected to continue into the foreseeable future with the emergence of mobile devices.

Description meta tags are important because Google might use them as snippets for your pages. Note that we say “might” because Google may choose to use a relevant section of your page’s visible text if it does a good job of matching up with a user’s query. Adding description meta tags to each of your pages is always a good practice in case Google cannot find a good selection of text to use in the snippet. The Webmaster Central Blog has informative posts on improving snippets with better description meta tags19 and better snippets for your users20. We also have a handy Help Center article on how to create good titles and snippets21.

By setting up Rank Tracker on predefined dates and times, you can have a hands-off approach to your tracking. Rank Tracker will update you automatically on the findings, and you can check that task off of your list.

Well you can turn that one link into multiple links (and a relationship) with a quick “hey, thanks for linking to me” email. It also helps you identify reputation management issues quickly so you can nip them in the bud before they blow up.

24. SEO for Bloggers – This post by Ashley Faulkes addresses the importance of SEO in promoting your content and your website/blog by default. It does focus on creating exceptional content in order to attract attention, links, bookmarks, likes and the like, but all that through a SEO perspective. The points made for keyword research, on-page optimization, link and relationship building get you in the right mindset for producing content so that both readers and search engines are met with quality.

Moderation is the key here. Google mentioned many times in their documents that internal links should help the users and search engines understand what the page is about. In their examples they always show keyword internal links.

We’ll start with your most important keywords: the ones you think you should be ranking well for or would like to be ranking well for. We’ll also look at the keywords your competition is ranking for, and if those terms make sense for you to target.

If this is the case (which it is), in a slightly roundabout way and not directly increasing visibility on the search results, exposure on these types of sites via a PR campaign will still influence your visibility via search engines.

79. The Advanced Guide to Link Building – Another link building guide by Neil Patel and Brian Dean via Quick Sprout, which you will find extremely useful once you start this chapter of your marketing campaign. Inside, the authors talk about how to find good link sources, what types of content naturally attract links, what backlinks are most valuable, how to forge relationships in order to gain good links, and more.

For the purposes of our testing, we standardized keyword queries across the five tools. To test the primary ad hoc keyword search capability with each tool, we ran queries on an identical set of keywords. From there we tested not only the kinds of data and metrics the tool gave, but how it handled keyword management and organization, and what kind of optimization recommendations and suggestions the tool provided.

Always install and setup a caching plugin on your WordPress site. We recommend using W3 Total Cache or WP Super Cache. To give your site speed even more boost, you can set up a CDN service to work with your caching plugin. At WPBeginner and on all our websites, we use MaxCDN. It greatly improves our page load times.
